Ukulele Kids Club, Inc.

The concept is simple: the Ukulele Kids Club donates ukuleles to hospitalized kids, who derive all kinds of benefits from making and hearing their own music. In its first five years, the UKC had grown to service more than 200 hospitals, around the world, and was poised to take on even bigger goals. At the same time, the group’s operations were becoming more complex: besides donating ukuleles to hospital-based music therapy programs, the UKC’s activities include extensive support of music therapy. These initiatives include advocacy for music therapy; creating tools for music therapists to use in their practice; continuing medical education for therapists; and creating fellowships to train the next generation of music therapists. 


Working with the executive leadership team, CMC shepherded the process of creating a new visual identity for the UKC. We also created a communications platform to clearly convey the organization’s expanded purpose and goals to the broadest possible audience. We then memorialized and standardized these communications and design principles with a guide to usage (“style guide”).

Communications include all short-form and long-form materials including video, brochures, website, presentations, press releases, ghost-written articles and social media materials.
